This year’s Summit will focus on the latest 3D printing technologies being developed & the push across the DoD to provide rapid equipment to the Warfighter on the battlefield. Additive manufacturing innovations are being utilized to increase the current level of capability and reduce the cost of parts, in order to deliver greater operational flexibility to the Warfighter and further enhance the defense industrial base. Current Health & Safety Protocols ____________________________________ Why You Should Attend This Summit Worldwide spending on 3D Printing reached over $13.8 Billion in 2019, with two-thirds of that spending being devoted to 3D printers and materials. The Military Additive Manufacturing Summit will bring together key senior leaders and acquisition authorities from across military services, defense agencies, & civilian organizations in a ‘town-hall’ setting to discuss how this revolutionary technology has real value and is being recognized for its multiple use cases. As Secretary of the Army, the Honorable Ryan McCarthy put it, “Advanced manufacturing will fundamentally change the way the Army designs, delivers, produces, and sustains materiel capabilities.” This year’s Summit will detail the current push across the DoD to rapidly deliver effective equipment to the Warfighter on the battlefield. Advances in additive manufacturing are being utilized to boost the current level of capability and lower the cost of parts, in order to provide the Warfighter with greater operational flexibility. This event will examine current collaborative efforts by DoD to leverage commercial applications of additive manufacturing technologies to further enhance the defense industrial base. 3D printing materials and processes give Military commands & defense agencies the opportunity to modernize their supply chains at scale, increase the size, weight, & power (SWAP) of their platforms/weapons systems, & enable the Warfighter to efficiently replace parts in a shorter amount of time. Senior leaders from across the services will offer their perspective on their overall goals to use 3D printing capabilities to enhance materiel readiness & guide mission success. Attendees at this summit will have the chance to network and learn about the emerging benefits of additive manufacturing technologies such as: facilitating additive integration into the logistics enterprise, allowing for the production of complex parts that cannot be manufactured using traditional processes, & improving quality control, predictive maintenance, and automatic ordering of supplies. Additionally, the growth of 3D printers, particularly 3D metal printers, are helping to expand the production of strong, complex parts, in order to improve overall combat readiness. __________________________________________________________________________ Operating Guidance for Government Attendees: - DSI’s Summit directly supports US Military Services, DoD Labs, & Government Agencies priorities by providing a conduit for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their department's mission success, at no charge to the government, and in an efficient expenditure of time. - DSI’s Summit will provide a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission. - The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoD and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum. (Industry and academia members are charged a fee for admission.) Topics Covered at the 2020 Summit: - Modernizing supply chains through additive manufacturing in support of the Warfighter - Leveraging advanced manufacturing to enhance supply chains and improve materiel readiness for the Warfighter - Operationalizing additive manufacturing to enhance the materiel readiness of the US Army - Leveraging 3D printing to bolster materiel readiness across the US Air Force - Providing an update on the AM Roadmap: Enhancing the America Makes Digital Storefront to better support the DoD - Leveraging the Defense Industrial Base to support DoD systems through additive manufacturing - Facilitating the integration of 3D printing onto military structures & weapons systems __________________________________________________________________________ Exhibit and Sponsorship Information The Military Additive Manufacturing Summit provides opportunities including exhibit space, round table discussions, product demonstrations, and networking receptions.
